Following the recent ACM facade fires which have occurred on the international scene, A&I Coatings have noticed a dramatic increase in demand for fluoropolymer coated 3mm solid aluminium facades.
When specifying protective coatings for solid aluminium facades, an architect could specify a fluoropolymer powder coat instead of a liquid wet spray fluoropolymer coating. The disadvantage of a powder coat finish is that the aluminium panel cannot be folded post application – meaning the panel must be transported and painted after it has been fabricated, which is a lot less cost effective than transporting a flat sheet. A quality wet-spray fluoropolymer coating on the other hand, offers a series of key benefits including:
- Tested to AS1530.3
- Unbeatable flexibility and foldability
- Excellent durability
- Fast turnaround time (as there is no need to have a prefinished panel imported from overseas.)
