The Seaford Rail Extension project in South Australia is a very important infrastructure project, providing a new electrified passenger railway involving a 5.7 kilometre extension of the dual track rail line from Noarlunga Centre railway station to the Seaford District Centre. A&I Coatings was pleased to be involved in the project, supplying anti-graffiti coatings for all surfaces accessible to the public. The topcoat specified was A&I’s Vitreflon 744 Two Pack Fluoropolymer coating while the undercoats included various epoxy and polyurethane products depending on the substrate. This product was chosen by engineers and architects for its exceptional UV and graffiti resistance.
A&I Coatings was able to provide durable coating systems for many substrates on this project including concrete, galvanised steel, stainless steel, block work, aluminium composite panel, Colorbond®, powder coated steel and zincalume. Infrastructure protected with Vitreflon 744 included bridges, noise walls, handrails, retaining walls, various types of cladding material and concrete barriers.
Due to the number of different substrates on this project, a range of primers were used, including:
- Enviroset 2000
- Enviroset 2100
