The redevelopment of the heritage-listed bank building at 50 Martin Place delivers a contemporary transformation that balances the site’s rich history with the demands of a modern financial headquarters. Now the global home of Macquarie Group, the project respects the building’s heritage character while introducing a striking steel and glass rooftop atrium, known as the “jewel in the crown” of the development. Forming the building’s distinctive fifth façade, the transparent dome creates light-filled workspaces and premium meeting facilities overlooking one of Sydney’s most prominent civic spaces.
A&I Coatings supplied the protective coating system for the atrium steelwork, delivering a high-performance fluoropolymer solution renowned for its exceptional colour and gloss retention, long-term corrosion protection, and premium architectural finish. The system also supported the project’s 6 Star Green Star objectives through a certified low-VOC coating solution, combining sustainability with lasting durability and aesthetics.
