Challenge:

The existing floor surface was aged and looked drab and dull. The requirement was for a floor coating system capable of handling constant fork and pallet jack traffic. A system that had some moderate texture but easy to clean and maintain. Something to lift the overall look of the facility.

Solution:

The Enudrafloor RC system was chosen with the use of Envoiroset 4113 textured 100% solids roll applied epoxy coating. The finished system delivers a slight orange peel texture which also assisted in disguising slight imperfections in the concrete substrate. A N23 Neutral Grey and Bridge Grey N44 colour combination was used to demark traffic flow areas and workstations. This delivered a major OHS advantage by directing moving traffic to designated zones.
The N23 Light grey also offered excellent light reflection.
At doorways aluminium oxide aggregate was incorporated within the system to achieve a P4 slip resistant finish. Preparation works involved planetary diamond grinding with 3 phase equipment and M class Vacuum systems. This preparation delivered an ICRI CSP 2-3 profile that ensured long term bond of the new system.

Application was very simple via means of roller and brush. Installation was quite quick with all works completed over a 3-week period.

Results & Outcome

The outcome was a highly durable and visually appealing floor coating system that enhanced the overall aesthetics of the business. The doorways achieved a P4 slip-resistant finish, and provided a significant OHS benefit by guiding traffic to designated areas through the use of contrasting colour
combinations.
