This project’s distinctive design reflects the elements of earth, water, and sky, expressed through an earthy terracotta façade to the south, contrasted by a striking white, curvilinear form to the north, known as “The Cloud.” The building is articulated into a carefully scaled rectilinear mass defining the waterfront, paired with a more expressive, organic form that shapes and celebrates the public open space. These forms are enhanced by a linear canopy, gentle terracing, and landscaping, which together define the character of the public waterfront. The ground level is predominantly retail and provides lobby access to the apartments above. A&I Coatings contributed to the project by supplying the high-performance coating for the façade panels, ensuring durability, aesthetic appeal, and long-lasting protection.
A & I Coatings VITREFLON 700 is a unique two pack fluoropolymer resin based (FEVE) topcoat that can cure at room temperature or under low bake conditions. VITREFLON 700 gives excellent UV resistance and weathering performance and has very good application properties. This technology lowers the lifetime maintenance cost of coatings in a variety of environments.
The scope of works included A&I Coatings working alongside ShapeShift Technologies to deliver the optimal coating solution for the ShapeShell™ panels, achieving exceptional appearance and long-lasting quality.
The public domain along the waterfront extends seamlessly toward Darling Harbour, strengthening pedestrian connectivity and enhancing the foreshore walking trail. Anadara, supported by its active retail frontage at ground level, helps energise this link by creating a dynamic and welcoming public realm. At the northern end, the building opens into a public square that encourages movement and activity throughout Barangaroo and into the CBD. The residences further enrich the precinct, contributing to a vibrant, engaged community along the harbour’s edge.
Finishing touches were elevated by A&I Coatings Vitreflon 700 FEVE topcoat, which enhances the architectural form with a stunning, glossy finish that celebrates the building’s distinctive design.
