As Finance Manager, Gemma plays a key role in supporting the business across financial operations, reporting, and day-to-day problem solving. She began with the company in Customer Service and Administration, quickly immersing herself in finance-related responsibilities and assisting with stock control — a natural progression that led to her promotion into the Finance Manager role.
With several years of experience in Finance and additional time spent in Sales across a range of industries, Gemma brings a well-rounded and practical approach to her work. Known for being a reliable “go-to” person, she’s always willing to roll up her sleeves and help wherever needed — whether that’s in the office or out in the factory with her pink safety boots.
As the Purchasing Manager at A&I Coatings, Sanjay is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw materials, packaging, and operational supplies essential for the company’s operations. He consistently ensures cost efficiency, maintains high standards of material quality, and supports uninterrupted production through effective supplier management and strategic inventory coordination.
Qualification: He holds a master’s degree in commerce from Flinders University, Melbourne, Australia.
Experience: With 16 years of management-level experience across diverse organizations, he brings extensive expertise in procurement, supply chain management, and operational leadership.
Ernie ensures the consistent quality, performance, and reliability of A&I Coatings’ products across every stage of manufacture. Working closely with the sales, production, technical, and R&D teams, he oversees testing, inspections, batch release, and compliance with industry standards. He also drives continuous improvement initiatives, maintains supplier quality, and supports customers with specifications, test results, and guidance on application performance. Committed to consistency, accountability, and clear communication, Ernie helps ensure every coating performs reliably on site, every time.
Stephen joined A&I Coatings as a Research Chemist in 2019 and has faced many challenges and celebrated numerous successes during his time with the company. He has gained extensive experience formulating a wide range of coatings and solving issues related to adhesion, chemical resistance, and rheology.
He works alongside a highly experienced and dedicated team at A&I, all of whom come together to meet project deadlines and deliver solutions for customers. A highlight of his time at A&I has been the development of Vitrethane 650, an isocyanate-free polyurethane, which is now being supplied to customers across Australia.
Bing joined A&I in November 2025 as a member of the Research and Development team, contributing to the generation of innovative solutions that address market needs while enhancing productivity and efficiency. On a day-to-day basis, he trials new ideas and helps maintain the existing portfolio, ensuring the company stays ahead in a competitive landscape.
Challenges and complex problems fuel his creativity and innovation, allowing him to bring new ideas to life while collaborating closely with the Sales and Operations teams to accelerate implementation. His speed, confidence, and deep knowledge make him an invaluable asset to the company, consistently driving progress and results.
Joseph Rafallo, known to everyone as Raffy, is A&I’s dedicated Colour Matching & Tinting Specialist. With exceptional attention to detail and a strong understanding of colour formulation, he ensures precise and consistent tinting across a wide range of industrial coating products.
Raffy is one of the company’s most hardworking and reliable team members. He works efficiently and quietly, maintaining focus and accuracy while managing high tinting volumes and tight deadlines. His ability to match complex colours with consistency plays a critical role in meeting production schedules and customer expectations.
Always willing to lend a hand, Raffy supports both the production and sales teams whenever needed. His positive attitude, calm approach, and strong work ethic make him highly respected and well-liked across the organisation. Antony is one of A&I’s dedicated team members and serves as our National Business Development Manager for Floor Coatings. He works closely with customers across the country, helping them select the most suitable flooring systems, products, and application methods for their projects. He is also proactive in creating opportunities to promote our brand, regularly engaging with new leads and customer contacts with a high level of enthusiasm and initiative.
Outside of work, Antony enjoys sharing his passion for Italian culture and cuisine, and he’s always happy to offer tips on brewing the perfect Italian coffee. He also enjoys rugby and tinkering with engines and motors in his spare time, along with a keen interest in ancient history and genealogical research. The enthusiasm and positive energy he brings to the team each day are truly invaluable.
Graeme joined our team in September 2025 and is based in Melbourne, servicing Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia. Originating from a contractor background over a twenty-year period specialising in resin flooring, waterproofing and concrete remediations, he has managed firstly a family company and evolved into the management of other contracting companies with similar areas of specialist application. A proactive Business Development Manager with a strong focus on the protective coatings industry, he is responsible for developing national opportunities, supporting specification projects, and building relationships with contractors, asset owners, and consultants to deliver reliable and innovative coating solutions. Passionate about everything he undertakes, Graeme is a fair, approachable, and highly respected member of the team. He is greatly valued for his practical mindset and dedication to ensuring projects are delivered correctly, efficiently, and in the most cost-effective way.
With over 17 years at A&I, Mark has had the privilege of growing alongside the business and building strong relationships with customers. Over the years, he has developed extensive product knowledge across the entire range, enabling him to provide fast, accurate, and tailored support to every client.

Russel started with A&I Coatings during the COVID period, installing hand sanitiser systems at a time when adaptability and teamwork were more important than ever due to the downturn in employment.
After the sad passing of Giri, the long-serving Operations Manager, he stepped into the role of Operations Manager. He now oversees production scheduling, quality control, process improvement, stock and inventory management, maintenance, and critical decision-making across the business.
He is passionate about driving efficiency and ensuring every product that leaves the site reflects the high standards A&I Coatings is known for.

He manages production schedules, raw material usage, batch control, and team performance while maintaining compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations specific to solvent-based manufacturing. As the second-in-charge in the Water Base Department, Ray plays a key leadership role in supporting daily operations and ensuring the department runs smoothly and efficiently. He works closely with the team to oversee production flow, coordinate performance, and maintain strong communication across the department to keep schedules on track.
Ray is hands-on in his approach, actively involved in day-to-day tasks while upholding strict quality control standards. He is committed to driving the consistent production of high-quality water-based products, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and meeting productivity targets. Darren has stepped into the role of Packaging Supervisor at the beginning of 2026, reflecting the trust and value he brings to A&I Coatings. His contribution to the business and team does not go unnoticed.
Grant has been a valued member of the A&I Coatings team for several years, serving as Dispatch Manager and playing a key role in the smooth operation of the business. In this position, he oversees the dispatch and receipt of consignments, manages packing and shipping processes, coordinates truck loading and unloading, and ensures that every order leaves the site accurately, safely, and on time.
His attention to detail and strong organisational skills help maintain efficiency across the warehouse and logistics functions. Grant works closely with production, sales, and transport providers to ensure deadlines are met and customers receive their products without delay.

Ryan joined us in 2025 when we opened our new facility in Sydney and has quickly become an invaluable member of the team, effectively managing the entire operation at Wetherill Park Warehouse. He oversees all aspects of the warehouse, including opening and closing, customer service, processing sales orders, handling inter-company stock transfers, picking and packing orders, organizing freight, managing tinting operations, monitoring stock levels and coordinating reorders, unloading containers, and addressing any tasks that arise. His dedication, efficiency, and hands-on approach make him a critical asset to the team, ensuring the warehouse runs smoothly and effectively.
In her role as a Customer Service Officer and Receptionist, Laura prides herself on delivering outstanding customer service by combining strong communication, organisation, and a genuine eagerness to help. Throughout her career, she has developed the ability to remain calm under pressure, actively listen to customer needs, and complete tasks quickly and efficiently.
